17th July 2018

Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s)

We are looking forward to welcoming your child tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday 18th July 2018) for a transition afternoon at Worcester Road Campus You will be aware that they are spending the Autumn term on the Worcester Road Campus before they start at Corndon Crescent Campus in January 2019.

We have had a number of parents who have enquired about travel arrangements to the Worcester Road Campus in September. We are delighted to confirm that a shuttle bus will be provided from the start of September for our new Year 7 students only.

This bus will leave the Corndon Crescent Campus at 8.15 am for the Worcester Road Campus and then and will return at 3.15 pm from Worcester Road Campus to Cordon Crescent Campus. Furthermore, there will be a breakfast club at the Worcester Road Campus in the Autumn term from 8.00 am for any Year 7 students who arrive at school earlier for the convenience of their parents.

In September we are going to introduce a Session 6 Programme which will apply to our new Year 7 students and this will be published on the schools website. For the first term, Year 7 will have the opportunity to attend a variety of Sport and Performing Art sessions after school until 4.15 pm. In January this will be extended to the rest of the subjects when Year 7 join the Cordon Crescent Campus. We will decide any additional transport arrangements in due course.

Clearly, the good news about the capital investment in the school only came a few days ago so we have been immediately working to establish travel arrangements in September for parents. In discussion with many of you, we are sure that these travel arrangements will reassure you about September 2018. During September we will have the opportunity to discuss the future travel arrangements with you in more detail. For absolute clarity there will be a transport travel plan for the entire term for Year 7 as we are especially aware of the need to provide transport arrangements with the dark nights in November and December. We can discuss this in more detail once your child has started school.

Lastly, we look forward to meeting all our new Year 7 parents at our settling-in evening in September, more information on this will be provided in September.

Yours faithfully

Mrs Hayley Cornish                                                    Mr Jon Arnold
