7th December 2018

Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s)

I am writing to you with excellent news regarding the move over to one site in January 2019.

Everything is currently going to plan and we are now at the stage where the first building is in place, this will be followed next week by the arrival of the second set of classrooms and then by the decoration of these and installation of all classroom facilities.

Officially we can announce that we are confident that Year 7 students will be able to move to the Corndon Crescent site on Monday 28th January 2019.

In order for all students to be educated on one site, we will be closing the school for students in years 7, 8 and 9 on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th January 2019.  This will be to provide staff with the opportunity to move over vital equipment from the Worcester Road site.

There will be some Year 7 settling in opportunities organised and these will be communicated before the Christmas holidays by Mrs Cornish – Assistant Head in Year 7.

As with all building work projects, there is always the possibility for delays due to extreme weather conditions and whilst we have tried to build this in, I felt it was important to communicate to you as soon as possible in order to allow opportunities for alternative provisions to be made for your children.

If there are any changes to the proposed dates over the next few weeks, I will of course communicate this via the text service and school website.

We look forward to finally having the school on one site as was originally planned.

Yours sincerely

Mr J Arnold

Headteacher – Shrewsbury Academy
