Parents & Carers

Our Academy subscribes to a set of shared values that include self-reliance, openness, honesty and caring for others.

Every student is a respected member of our community and we encourage all of our learners to participate in Academy Life. Our Student Council is the formal channel through which pupils can provide feedback and suggestions about the school.

Encouraging learners to develop skills for life

Not only do our students have access to an exciting and broad curriculum, but our Academy offers plenty of opportunities for pupils to explore other interests.

Extra-curricular activities offer the chance for pupils to develop their social, physical and leadership skills alongside their academic development.

Musicians can take part in one of our many lunchtime and after-Academy singing groups and clubs. Meanwhile students are able to book the Dance Studio at lunchtimes.

Sports activities include football, archery and badminton and students can take advantage of a Gym and Fitness Suite.

We are proud of our Technology provision, which includes well-equipped IT suites, laptops, iPads and full wireless capability throughout the school.

Helping your child feel safe and secure

Here at Shrewsbury Academy, we work in close partnership with local primary schools to ensure that every Year 6 child knows what to expect as they move into the next phase of their education.

We run outreach workshops to help younger children achieve a better understanding of what to expect at secondary school and also offer a programme of open days as the new academic year approaches.
