School Uniform from September 2017 (pdf version)

The following details the uniform for Year 7 to Year 11.

A high standard of personal appearance is expected of all students and anyone arriving at school in non-uniform clothing may expect to be sent home to get changed.

  • Shrewsbury Academy blazer
  • White shirt
  • Shrewsbury Academy tie
  • Black tailored trousers or black skirt
  • Black tights or black socks
  • Black shoes
  • Optional V-neck jumper for the winter monthsTrousers must be tailored trousers and not jeans, leggings or skinny trousers.
  • Skirts must be of an appropriate length and not made of stretchy material.

Shoes must be plain black shoes without any coloured logos etc. Trainers and canvas shoes are not appropriate and boots are not permitted in school. In the Winter months, boots may be worn on the way to school, but students must change into their shoes on arrival at school.

  • The only jewellery permitted is one small earring in each ear and a watch
  • No other body jewellery allowed, including face studs and tongue studs
  • Nail extensions and nail polish are not permitted
  • Discreet make-up can be worn and any foundation must be of a natural colour
  • Excessive hair styles, hair extensions and non-normal colour are not permitted
  • No large hair accessories are permitted
  • No hoodies or coats are to be worn in the building. This will not be tolerated as it is a safeguarding issue.

Please ensure all clothing and personal belongings are clearly marked with the owner’s name.

There is a new PE kit for Shrewsbury Academy for September 2016. However, there is not an expectation that students will be in this uniform immediately. As and when you need to purchase new kit for your child then please update it to the new uniform.

Correct Physical Education kit is to be worn for all Physical Education lessons. If your child is unable to take part in the lesson due to injury or illness, they will need to bring a note from their parent/carer, explaining the reason why. Your child will still take part in the lesson as a Coach Organiser or Official. Sanctions will be issued to students who fail to bring kit or who have incomplete kit.

 

Dance Kit

KS3 dance kit will be the same as the PE kit above. GCSE Dance students will wear black leggings/tracksuit bottoms and a black GCSE Dance top.
